Our history:
At the beginning of 2006, Astoria SoundWorks closed its Recording Studio to focus on rehearsal room rentals and musical instrument retail.
In April of 2006, Sandra Kratc raised the funds to acquire the assets of ASW's Recording Studio, and with Kamilo Kratc, registered Soundworks Recording Studio with the State of New York. In the Summer of 2006 a lease was signed with 23rd Avenue Realty and so began the design of the new recording studio with the expert assistance of Savvas Karamalis, and Steve Vavagiakis of Bang Zoom. Construction began on August/September 2006 for the new recording studio at suite 303 on the 3rd floor of the same commercial building where Astoria SoundWorks Rehearsal Studios occupies the basement. Before the studio was operational, we had sessions for our clients at the previous location of Spin Studios, and at our neighbor's studio: The Buddy Project. The story continues to be told in the Works page as we add publicly available releases.
